We have lots of exciting news to share with you…
New Board Members: Please welcome our new board members Karen Garcia-Gonzales, CMP, Destination Marketing Association International and Josefa Martinez, CMP, NeighborWorks America. Karen and Josefa have replaced Christopher Pulido and Haydee Barno, CMP, who have completed their two year terms on the board. Thanks Christopher and Haydee for all that you have done to make first two years a success!
At this time we also say goodbye to Jeannette Gonzalez, CMP, of Agora Occasions. Jeannette is co-founder of and just completed a two year term as chairman of the association. Jeannette will be relocating abroad for the next couple of years (good for her!), but leaves in great shape to move forward. Replacing Jeannette as chairman of the board of is Anita Nunez, Hilton Sales Worldwide. Anita has served a two year term on board and is perfectly positioned to take on this new venture. Best wishes to both ladies in 2008!
Continuing on Board of Directors for 2008 are co-founders Trudy Singh, CMP, NYC & Company and Laurie Nelson-Choice, VISIT Milwaukee.
New Association Management Company: is pleased to announce that Mance and Associates, LLC has become the association management company for our organization. Mance and Associates is a woman-owned, minority-owned business and maintains a fully staffed office in Washington, DC. Mance and Associates will handle the administrative functions for , in addition to marketing, event management and membership efforts. This transition will take place in early January. Welcome aboard Safisha and Myrlin!
New for 2008: Thanks for all of your feedback on over the past two years. Your voices were heard and based on your feedback, we have decided to change the day and times of future Network events. Starting this month, the new day for Network events will be the 4th Wednesday of the month (some events may vary). In addition, we will alternate between lunches and receptions to give everyone the most opportunities to join us. We look forward to your increased participation in 2008!
We are going green…or at least making a strong effort! To that end, we will no longer send out paper invitations for upcoming events. All of our communication with you will be via e-mail, phone and on our website, www.NLMPOnline.org. Along those same lines, we will be featuring a session on planning green meetings on April 23, please mark your calendar.
